Explore east Africa’s Top Wildlife
reserves in this comprehensive yet comfortable
safari. Designed for the best wildlife viewing
for the months of July through October, you will
experience the “noah’s ark” that is Ngorongoro
crater, vast herds of elephant in Tarangire,
nocturnal wildlife at Lewa and the great
migration in the Maasai Mara. Accommodations are
in small permanent tented camps and lodges.
Travel is by modified 4wd vehicle and light
aircraft and wildlife activates are led by your
private guide in Tanzania and resident camp
guides in Kenya.
Day 1 - Arusha
Arrive today into Kilimanjaro International
Airport and after clearing customs you will be
met and driven to the beautiful Moivaro Coffee
Lodge - situated between Arusha and on a forty
acre of coffee plantation with a spectacular
view of Mt. Meru and the surrounding
countryside. Each of the 40 picturesque cottages
has its own verandah and there is a swimming
pool, bar and restaurant as well as jogging
path, massage room and internet facilities.
Relax for the rest of the day.
Overnight - Moivaro Coffee Lodge (D, B&B basis)
Day 2 - Arusha National Park
This morning you will be met by your private
Tanzanian guide who will remain with you
throughout your Tanzania safari. Your safari
begins at the beautiful Arusha National Park,
one of the most picturesque in East Africa. This
often overlooked park is a small gem containing
several lakes, the 14,000 ft. Mt. Meru and the
Ngurdoto Crater. The park is inhabited by
elephant, buffalo, zebra, gazelle, wart hog,
hippo and an amazing quantity of giraffes. In
the Ndurdoto Forest you will have a chance to
observe the rare black & white Colobus Monkey.
You will have a full day in the park with a
picnic lunch arriving back at the lodge in the
early evening with time to relax before dinner.

Day 3 - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast at the lodge, you will depart
Arusha for scenic Tarangire National Park,
Tanzania’s third largest. Here you’ll find a
geologic landscape as diverse as the wildlife,
with nine distinct vegetation zones ranging from
grassland to woodland, from deep gully
vegetation to scattered rocky hilltops.
Mysterious Baobab trees dot the landscape and
the Tarangire River meanders through the park.
During the dry season the river attracts an
abundance of wildlife, including up to 6000
elephant, lion, cheetah, and buffalo and a
variety of colorful birds.
Your accommodations for the next three nights
will be at the Tarangire River Camp, set just
outside the western border of the park on a high
ridge over looking the Tarangire River. Views of
Mt. Meru, Kilimanjaro and Ngorongoro, oldonyo
lengai, and the Great Rift Valley can be seen
from every corner of the Camp. Activities
include wildlife viewing in the park and walking
and hiking.After lunch enjoy an afternoon game
drive followed by drinks around the fire..
Dinner is served under the stars or in the
dining gazebo. Overnight - Tarangire River Camp

Days 4/5 - Tarangire National Park
Over the next two days you’ll be awakened at
dawn with coffee or tea, then depart on an early
morning game drive in the park. Afterwards you
will return to camp for a hearty breakfast, then
either relax for a while or go for a guided
walk. After lunch you will depart in search of
leopard – looking for the “chui” tails that hang
down from the trees that line the Tarangire
River. With a little luck the tail may lead to a
leopard. You will return to camp in the early
evening for drinks around the fire then dinner.

Day 6 - Lake Manyara / Ngorongoro Highlands
Arise early this morning and after tea or coffee
with biscuits, you’ll leave Tarangire for a
short drive across the Great Rift Valley to Lake
Manyara National Park. Although only 205 sq.
miles in size this enchanting park is noted for
its beauty and incredibly lush acacia forest of
giant fig and mahogany trees, which are home to
troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park is
also home to large numbers of buffalo, giraffe,
elephant, hippo, impala and the Hippo Pool,
where large numbers usually gather. Well known
for its birds (over 400 species), Lake Manyara
is one of the few places you will see the
comical Ground Hornbill and the Crested Eagle.
After a picnic lunch in a scenic spot and more
wildlife viewing – you’ll drive up the
escarpment through the lush highlands to the
Ngorongoro Farm House continue to the Ngorongoro
Farm House. The Ngorongoro Farm house is an
luxury lodge facing the Oldeani Volcano, set on
a 500 acre coffee farm located only 3 miles from
the Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate. Three
separate and intimate camps contain a total of
30 comfortable bungalows. The large main
building, covered with an elegant thatched roof,
contains the reception, bar, dining area,
library and lounge with a fireplace where guests
can enjoy a rest during the cool evenings in the
highlands. Guest Areas are completed by a
swimming pool with superb views of Oldeani
Volcano and a craft shop. There is also an
organic vegetable and flower garden.
Relax for the rest of the day, walk in the
gardens or rest by the pool. Overnight -

Day 7 - Ngorongoro Crater
After a hearty Farm House breakfast you will
drive a short ways to the crater - the first
glimpse takes your breath away. The crater is
the largest unbroken caldera on earth. The floor
of this collapsed volcano spreads for 102 sq.
miles and the walls are 2,000 ft. high, a truly
awesome sight. The crater floor is a virtual
"Noah's Ark", inhabited by almost every species
of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including
the rare black rhino. It contains a river,
several swamps, a soda lake - complete with
flamingoes, a forest and open plains.
Spend the day in the crater, stopping for a
picnic lunch. In the early afternoon, return up
the steep road and back to the Ngorongoro Farm

Day 8 - Arusha / Nairobi
This morning you will depart after breakfast
back to Arusha’s Kilimanjaro International
Airport, with a stop for lunch at the KIA Lodge.
After saying goodbye to your guide you will
catch the scheduled flight to Nairobi’s Wilson
Airport.
After clearing customs you will be met and
transferred to the Fairview Hotel. Owned and
managed by three generations of one family since
1946, the Fairview is set on five acres of
beautiful landscaped gardens with comfortable
rooms that offer every modern facility. The The
Fairview’s award winning chefs create wonderful
cuisine in the four dining venues. Try the
MukutanGarden Café for Nairobi’s finest coffee
and light meals, the Pwani Pool Restaurant for a
full range of international cuisine alfresco or
the Mitende Atrium Sushi Bar. Overnight - The

Days 9/10 - Lewa Wildlife Reserve
This morning after breakfast you will be met at
the hotel transferred to Nairobi’s Wilson Field
and depart on the scheduled flight for the Lewa
Wildlife Reserve, a private game sanctuary,
located in the Laikipia area. Here you’ll
encounter the northern species as well as plenty
of plains game, elephant, buffalo, and the odd
predator… all against a stunning backdrop – Mt.
Kenya on one side and the Matthews Range on the
other.
Lewa Safari Camp is located in the Ngare Sergoi
Rhino Sanctuary which is part of the reserve.
The twelve luxury tents with private baths en
suite (flush toilets and hot water showers)
overlook a floodlit water hole where you can
watch numerous wildlife come to drink. Besides
day time game drives and walks, you will have
the opportunity to take night game drives
allowing you a chance to see bush babies,
aardvarks, bat-eared foxes and several cats. For
a special treat, take a morning horseback ride
amongst the wildlife, and get within an arm’s
length to giraffe and zebra. The ambiance of the
camp and the food are wonderful.
Enjoy your days here on morning, afternoon and
evening game drive, camel rides and guided
wildlife walks. Overnight - Lewa Safari Camp
(all meals and most activities)
Days 11/12/13 - Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast you’ll depart for the airstrip
and board the schedule flight back to Nairobi.
From here you will connect the 10:00am scheduled
flight to the famous Maasai Mara, arriving at
11:00am. The Maasai Mara is an extension of the
Serengeti ecosystem and is home to "Big Five"
... elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino,
as well as thousands of the greater and lesser
plains game. From mid August through October,
the vast herds of Wildebeest, Zebra and gazelle,
that make up the “great migration” make the Mara
their home.
When you land at the airstrip a vehicle from the
Kicheche Mara Camp will meet you and with a game
drive en-route, transfer you to the remote
Kicheche Mara Camp. This is a classic permanent
tented camp hidden away in a grove of trees on
the Aitong plains of the Maasai Mara. There are
a maximum of 22 guests, all staying under canvas
in this intimate camp situated in prime wildlife
habitat – the camp is completely unfenced. Each
tent is comfortably furnished with an en-suite
bathrooms and 24 hour lighting. Most tents are
set in secluded positions overlooking the
plains, where you can watch the wildlife from
your veranda or take a nap in the hammock, while
others are closer together for families or
friends. The spacious Nyati tent acts as the
camp lounge with comfortable seating, a library,
board games, cards and local crafts. After lunch
relax bit before heading out on an afternoon
game drive, returning to camp for a sundowner by
the campfire and dinner under the stars.
On your next two days wake with coffee or tea
for a sunrise game drive, returning to camp for
a delicious brunch, then relax during the heat
of the day before departing on afternoon game
drives along with optional guided walks and a
visit to a local Maasai Village. Overnight -
Kicheche Mara Tented Camp (all meals &
activities)
Day - 14 Maasai Mara / Nairobi / Depart
After breakfast you’ll say good-bye to the bush
and transfer to the airstrip for your 11:00am
flight back to Nairobi. At Wilson Field you will
be met and transferred to the Fairview Hotel
where you will have a day room. Your afternoon
is at leisure to rest and relax or shop for
souvenirs. Enjoy dinner on your own, before
being met and transferred to the international
airport for your flight home.
