Photographic Kenya Safaris
We will visit three of the
most exciting photo locations in the country: the famous Masai Mara Game
Reserve, the picturesque Samburu Game Reserve, and the alkaline wetlands
of Lake Nakuru National Park. At each location, we spend extensive time
to get a real "sense of the place" and to devote the time necessary to
experience the wildlife and create numerous images. At times, a million
elegant flamingos feed and chatter in Lake Nakuru, making it one of the
greatest bird spectacles in the world

The Tour
SHMSPT01
Photographic Safari
10 Days
Day 1
Arrive in Nairobi, transfer to our five-star hotel.
Day 2
Morning flight to Masai Mara Game Reserve, afternoon game drive. (BLD)
Days 3-9
We will photograph elephants, Cape buffalo, Grant's and Thomson's gazelle,
impala, topi, zebra, wildebeest and Coke's hartebeest. Giraffe, eland,
bushbuck, serval and the big cats—lion, cheetah and leopard—all live
permanently within the reserve. We'll capture the range of light from
sunrise to sunset. (BLD)
Days 10-12
We journey overland to Nakuru National Park, migratory stopover of more than
a million lesser flamingos. It is a reserve for both black and white rhinos.
East Africa's most dense leopard population dwells here, plus Rothschild’s
giraffes, Defassa waterbucks, reedbucks and unwary warthogs. (BLD)
Days 13-16
Drive north to the Samburu and the Buffalo Springs Game Reserves where a
sizable population of elephants plus Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe,
gerenuk, Somali ostrich, impala, waterbuck, dik-dik, vervet monkey, hyrax,
baboon and oryx round out the photo subjects. (BLD)
Day 16
We fly back to Nairobi, have a dayroom in our hotel and depart in late
evening for home. (BLD)
