most romantic and luxurious “off the beaten
path” safari lodges and permanent tented camps.
Activities are lead by resident camp guides and

areas you will visit.
Day 1 - Nairobi
Arrive today into Jomo Kenyatta International
Airport and after clearing customs and
immigration, you will be met by our safari
representative and transferred to the Norfolk
Hotel. The Norfolk is a landmark in Nairobi
dating from it's colonial days, updated with
modern amenities. There are four restaurants, a
lobby bar, swimming pool and full gym. Overnight
- The Norfolk Hotel (B&B Basis)
Day 2 - Tsavo West National Park / Chyulu
Hills
This morning after breakfast, you will be
transferred to Wilson Airport and depart on a
flight to Kenya’s magnificent Chyulu Hills area,
bordering Tsavo West National Park. Upon arrival
you will depart by road for Campi ya Kanzi, with
a game drive on the way to the remote camp. As
you arrive at the dramatic stone and thatch main
lodge, you’ll be greeted by the friendly staff
and after a cool drink in the lounge and a
briefing, you will be taken to your luxury tent.
Each of the 6 tents is located for privacy with
views of the surrounding hills, plains and Mt
Kilimanjaro. The spacious, solar powered tents
all have wooden floors, an en-suite bathroom
with hot and cold running water, showers and
flush toilets. And you can watch wildlife from
your shaded verandah that looks towards
Kilimanjaro.
After lunch, relax before your late afternoon
game-viewing activity. Return to camp for
sundowners around the campfire followed by
dinner with your hosts - featuring fabulous
Italian cuisine. Coffee and tea are served
around fireplace in the lounge. Overnight -
Campi ya Kanzi (all meals & activities)
Day 3/4 - Tsavo West National Park / Chyulu
Hills
Planning your activities with your hosts, you
have two more days to enjoy this wonderful camp,
exploring the area on game drives and on foot
with Luca and the Maasai guides. You may want to
spend a whole day on safari with a picnic lunch
by the lake, returning to camp in the late
afternoon. Or, you could take a morning nature
walk with Maasai guides, who are still living
very closely to their traditional lifestyle -
then return to camp for lunch. After some time
to relax – depart on a late afternoon game
drive, with sundowners in the Chyulu Hills
before returning to camp on a night game-drive.
You’ll have lots of options – the hardest being
to actually leave camp! Overnight - Campi ya
Kanzi (all meals & activities)
Day 5 - Maasai Mara National Reserve
This morning after breakfast you will say
goodbye and transfer to the airstrip to board
your flight to Wilson Field. Connect to the
scheduled morning flight to the famous Maasai
Mara National Reserve - the jewel of Kenya's
game parks. Located in the northern section of
the great Serengeti Plains, the Mara has one of
the highest concentrations of wildlife anywhere
in Africa. The reserve is the home of the "Big
Five" ... elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and
rhino, as well as cheetah, zebra, giraffe,
wildebeest, hippo, impala, gazelle and numerous
other wildlife, including hundreds of species of
birds.
Your home for three nights is at Il Moran Camp,
an outstanding luxury bush camp. Hidden under
ancient trees on the banks of the Mara River,
each of the 10 enormous luxury tents is
furnished with king-sized beds and furniture,
handmade from wild olive trees, huge en-suite
bathrooms with flush toilets and double showers
with plenty of hot water. Every tent also has a
large verandah where you can enjoy a romantic
candlelight dinner. During the day meals are
served under a canopy of trees and their
cordon-bleu dinners by candlelight are an
unforgettable experience.
After checking in and enjoying a gourmet lunch,
you’ll have some time to explore the camp and
relax before departing on an afternoon game
drive in search of the big five. The low
afternoon light is perfect for photographing the
beautiful rolling plains of the Maasai Mara. In
the early evening as you make your way back to
camp, you may get lucky and spot a leopard on
the prowl. At sunset return to camp for
sundowners around the fire and dinner. Overnight
- Il Moran Camp (all meals & activities)
Days 6/7 - Maasai Mara National Reserve
On these next two mornings you will be awakened
before dawn and after a cup of tea or coffee
you’ll set out at sunrise on an early morning
game drive. The Mara is magical in the morning;
the birds are singing, the morning air smells
fresh and cool and the wildlife is just waking
up to greet the day. Zebra’s frolic and greet
each other, a pair of jackals prance through the
grass in search of mice or a rabbit, baboons
chatter noisily and curious giraffe watch you as
they nibble on their breakfast of acacia leaves.
You may even come upon a lion family feeding
together on last nights kill.
Return to camp for a sumptuous breakfast and
time to relax and enjoy your surroundings. In
the afternoons, after lunch, you’ll enjoy more
game drives, in the early evening with time to
freshen up before sundowners around the fire and
dinner. Overnight - Il Moran Camp (all meals &
activities)
Day 8 - Borana Ranch
Saving the best for last - after breakfast you
will transfer to the airstrip and board the
scheduled flight to Nairobi where you will
connect with a charter flight to the Kenya
Highlands and the beautiful Borana Ranch. Upon
arrival at the airstrip, you will be transferred
to Borana Lodge, a spectacular lodge with a
“country house” atmosphere that crowns a hill
overlooking a dam where wildlife gather at dawn.
Your luxury cottage has it’s own fireplace which
is lit for you each evening as the air cools
down. Meals are served in the stair-top dining
room by an enormous fireplace.
